Community Pharmacy Consultation Service (CPCS)

We now require our receptionists to collect certain details about your medical concerns.

Please be assured that all shared information is held in the strictest of confidence. Our reception team has connections to a variety of clinical personnel and resources, and by asking a few essential questions, they can guide you to the most suitable service or solution that addresses your needs. This approach also enables us to optimize appointment schedules and minimize wait times.

For instance, our reception team can now schedule a same-day consultation with an NHS community pharmacist for minor ailments. After assessing your symptoms and determining that they fit the criteria, the team may direct you to an NHS community pharmacist of your preference. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation, as this helps reserve GP appointments for individuals with urgent or more complex health concerns.

Hurley and Riverside Practices will inform patients if a referral is initiated. Subsequently, patients will be advised to reach out to the Pharmacy directly, being aware that the referral originated from their GP.
